Quantum Power, the Renewable Energy Power Plant unit within Quantum Group, managed to close the EPC agreement with Maetel for its third solar project in Japan.

The project, Cherry Lake Megasolar, is located in Matsuzaka, Mie prefecture, 300 km southwest of Tokyo and will operate a 100 MW solar power plant, starting construction by July 2017 and COD by November 2018. The power plant will produce 127,500 MWh per year, providing clean energy nearly to 90,000 Japanese households in the region.

Cherry Lake Megasolar is part of the Quantum Power unit development efforts in Japan. Maetel, part of the ACS Group, will be the EPC contractor of the project. Similarly to Sunrise megasolar and Hokota megasolar, the previous projects of Quantum Power in Japan, Maetel will build, operate and provide maintenance works for the photovoltaic plant in collaboration with Quantum.

Quantum Group is based on the success of its plants in Sunrise and Hokota, which are already generating power in the Japanese region of Ibaraki, to further enhance the growth of renewable, clean energy in other parts of the world, like in Latin and North America, Australia and some specific areas of the South Asian region.
